In addition to the research we conducted above, we also wanted to find out more about how important music really is to singletons, so we asked 2,000 people looking for love a few questions and the results were very interesting…

Over two thirds of survey respondents (67%) think that having a love of music is ‘important’ or ‘somewhat important’ in potential partners, while 42% admitted that they couldn’t be in a relationship with someone with bad music taste. In fact, good music taste was rated as the fourth most important factor when looking for a partner, only after shared values, good hygiene and shared religious views.

When we asked whether you would be willing to attend a music event for your partner’s benefit, even if you didn’t like the music, an impressive 82% of you said that you would attend. On the other hand, only 37% said you would expect your partner to do the same.

We loved analysing this data and can’t wait to see how it changes as more users join the app and as more artists, albums and songs are added to the platform!
